My reflection
I pulled my hair up into a tight ponytail, ready to leave for
the night. I’m staring in the mirror when suddenly my reflection smiles, laughs
and turns and walks out of the mirror entirely, leaving me looking into a pit
of darkness. Fear shot through me faster than a bullet. My heart beating faster
with each second I stand there in shock. I closed my eyes ad reopened them,
nothing, but black. I reached my hand out to touch the mirror. The tip of my
fingers past through the glass. Instinctively, I jerked my arm back. Then the
curiosity won over and I reached in again, this time sticking my whole hand
inside the mirror. When I went through the mirror, I could feel the pricks of
something unnatural grasping my skin.
Then I was in. It was a shade of opal all around me, I could
see nothing but the other side of my mirror. I decided that I have seen enough,
so I turned around and tried to leave. When I reached my hand through the
mirror all I hit was glass. I saw my reflection looking back at me, smiling,
pulling her hair into a ponytail. Her eyes were not my eyes, they were all
white. I have dark brown eyes, maybe someone will notice. And at that though,
her eyes faded into my shade. She laughed again and waved goodbye to me.
I turned around, and started to run. There had to be another
way out. I ran, and ran and there was nothing. No way out, I was trapped. I
began to walk back to the mirror, in hope that the portal would reopen. Then I felt
a cold wind flow from the direction of my mirror. Then something that felt like
a hand was making its way up my leg. I screamed and tried to shake whatever was
touching me, off of my body but no matter what I tried it kept on going. It
inched its way up, not missing a spot. I collapsed and began to scream out for
help. The hand made its way to my face and opened my mouth. The lights
flickered on for just half of a second, and there were billions of creatures
surrounding me, but there was nobody touching me. I tried to reach out and
touch whatever it was that made its way near my neck, and I felt nothing. Until
I reached behind me and felt a body. It was a woman’s body, and the lights
flickered on once again. I quickly whipped my head around, and it was me. My
reflection grasped my neck and then there was nothing.
