Photo writing

A brother, always being there
His mind, focused on his priorities
His heart, focused on his family
A child, leaning on his family for support
His heart, given completely to home
His mind, focused completely on love

Spooky Season

A group of girls were having a slumber party one night and began to exchange ghost stories. One girl claimed that the old lady who had been buried earlier that week in the graveyard down the street had been buried alive. She claimed that if you tried, you could hear her still scratching at the lid of her coffin. The other girls called her bluff and told her that she wouldn’t do it. They said she was too afraid to go down there to the grave that very night. They continued to challenge her and eventually she gave into the peer pressure and accepted their challenge. Since she was going to go alone, she needed to prove to the others that she actually followed through with the task. She was supposed to take a stake with her and drive it into the ground so the next day the girls would know that she had been to the grave.

She headed off to the grave site, stake in hand, and never returned. The other girls assumed she had "chickened out" and had just gone home instead.

The next morning as they passed the graveyard they saw her there at the old lady's grave. She had accidentally staked her nightshirt to the ground and when she tried to run from the grave, she couldn’t... she died of fright right on the grave!

The hair, inspired by a picture from a flea market

I woke up in the morning, and i was feeling under the weather. Normally i would wake right up, but i decided to lay in bed for an extra moment. The i woke up again. I freaked out because i didn’t mean to sleep any longer. I jumped out of bed as quickly as i could, and i looked in the mirror. i was horrorstruck. for some odd reason my hair had taken the form of a cumulonimbus cloud. each time i attempted to run the brush through it, the brush got caught in its massive swirl. so i decided to skip my hair, and i just got dressed. I realized i was only 10 minutes late to the party, so i tried again to fix my hair. That’s when it happened. the brush snapped, and then disintegrated. the entire room began to change. The walls all began to give away, and i could see nothing but black. there were swirls of sparkling dust waving near my face. then i could see my mother. she had passed away several years ago. “it’s time to get up” she told me in her beautiful melodious voice. “you need to leave.” she said, this time with more urgency. That was when she disappeared, taking with her the wondrous illusion that had formed around me. Then i woke up, and my hair was still a mess.

photo hunt

20151105_094046.jpg This photo reminds me of nature. This is a cool rock.
20151105_094108.jpg This is a photo of the locker slits, and it looks like weird angles. Which is pretty neat i think.
20151105_094639.jpg This is my best friend Kaytlin. Every single day she makes me smile, even when im feeling all sad. She always brightens my mood.

20151105_094839.jpg This is the chief’s head. When i first started freshman year they told us that if we were to step on it, that the football team would come and tackle you. That has never happened though. Legit everyone walks on the head, nobody really cares. but its cool when i see freshman avoid the head.
20151105_094923.jpgThis is a picture of something square. The buttons on the vending machine mean alot to me. Because they provide me with food.
20151105_095142.jpg Many people don’t like Ms. Romay. She is very loud, and i respect that. But many people don’t like for people to not have the same opinion.
20151105_095710.jpgThis is a small part under the stairway. A lot of people go and make out here. One time i went over there and i saw a chick on a guys lap, and he had his mouth on her boobs. It was actually pretty nasty.
20151105_095348.jpgThis is Mrs. Rupke, she has taught me a lot. I had her for my world history class last year, and i really liked her.
20151105_094909.jpgThis is some kind of lock that i found on a wall somewhere. It is pretty cool, and it looks like a circle.
20151105_095351.jpg This is a floor. The design on a floor used to always catch my eye as a kid.
20151105_095620.jpg This is the sign on the boys bathroom. This is something that looks like a face, but really isn’t.
20151105_103031.jpgThis is a person’s body. I chose that to be my something beautiful. I think it is beautiful how we, as humans can move freely.
20151105_095443.jpgThis is the school police office. This makes me feel rather nostalgic, because everyone gets searched for drugs quite frequently. All it takes is one person telling you that you smell like weed, and then the go through your bag, and pockets.

The seven emotions, Harris Burdick inspired

"the seventh one ended up in France"

This first poem was inspired by a Harris Burdick piece.

There are many different things you can feel,
Some say there are millions of different emotions you can feel,
but an emotion is like a color,
you can take a certain amount of original colors to make a new one,
There are primary emotions,

1) Anger is an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or,
Something you feel has deliberately done you wrong.
Anger can be a good thing.
It can give you a way to express negative feelings,
or motivate you to find solutions to problems.
2) Fear is an emotion induced by a threat perceived by living entities,
Which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately a change in behavior,
Such as running away,
Hiding,
Or freezing from traumatic events.
3)Disgust is an emotional response of revulsion to something considered offensive
Or unpleasant.
Because disgust is an emotion with physical responses to undesirable or dirty situations, studies have Proven there are cardiovascular
And respiratory changes while experiencing the emotion of disgust.
4) Contempt,
Findings on contempt are less clear,
Though there is at least some preliminary evidence that this emotion
And its expression are universally recognized
5)Joy, is much less attainable,
Yet the most rewarding.
Many people never find joy,
Always living in a world of sadness.
6) Surprise is,
To cause to feel wonder,
Astonishment,
Or amazement, as at something unanticipated
7)Sadness,
Affected with or marked by unhappiness,
As that caused by affliction.
The seventh emotion,
The most hated by everyone,
Yet the most necessary.

Art walk

So, this is not the exact painting that I was given, and it is also sideways, but this looks very similar to the one I was presented. This reminds me of the time that my family and i went to the beach with my neighbors. We lived in Virginia beach at the time, and we all decided to take a trip to the beach. So we loaded up the families, and drove to the beach. The only reason that this memory stands out very much to me, is that my neighbors kid, he was like, 3 at the time got stung by a jellyfish. My neighbor ended up having to pee on him, which was really gross, but kinda cool in a way.

My reflection, a horror story

My reflection
I pulled my hair up into a tight ponytail, ready to leave for the night. I’m staring in the mirror when suddenly my reflection smiles, laughs and turns and walks out of the mirror entirely, leaving me looking into a pit of darkness. Fear shot through me faster than a bullet. My heart beating faster with each second I stand there in shock. I closed my eyes ad reopened them, nothing, but black. I reached my hand out to touch the mirror. The tip of my fingers past through the glass. Instinctively, I jerked my arm back. Then the curiosity won over and I reached in again, this time sticking my whole hand inside the mirror. When I went through the mirror, I could feel the pricks of something unnatural grasping my skin.
Then I was in. It was a shade of opal all around me, I could see nothing but the other side of my mirror. I decided that I have seen enough, so I turned around and tried to leave. When I reached my hand through the mirror all I hit was glass. I saw my reflection looking back at me, smiling, pulling her hair into a ponytail. Her eyes were not my eyes, they were all white. I have dark brown eyes, maybe someone will notice. And at that though, her eyes faded into my shade. She laughed again and waved goodbye to me.

I turned around, and started to run. There had to be another way out. I ran, and ran and there was nothing. No way out, I was trapped. I began to walk back to the mirror, in hope that the portal would reopen. Then I felt a cold wind flow from the direction of my mirror. Then something that felt like a hand was making its way up my leg. I screamed and tried to shake whatever was touching me, off of my body but no matter what I tried it kept on going. It inched its way up, not missing a spot. I collapsed and began to scream out for help. The hand made its way to my face and opened my mouth. The lights flickered on for just half of a second, and there were billions of creatures surrounding me, but there was nobody touching me. I tried to reach out and touch whatever it was that made its way near my neck, and I felt nothing. Until I reached behind me and felt a body. It was a woman’s body, and the lights flickered on once again. I quickly whipped my head around, and it was me. My reflection grasped my neck and then there was nothing.

Dan in real life questions

Dan in Real Life Questions
1.       Dan writes a column on parenting advice but has a lot of trouble parenting. Do you think it is important to write about what you know?
A-I think that you really don’t need to know exactly what you are writing about. If you are giving advice, then all you really need to have is experience. People can learn from, not your infinite knowledge but, your experience, and your mistakes. I’m sure that there are many parents that learned from Dan’s single parenting mistakes.
2.       What are three Tips you would give parents of teenagers?
A-“Children are people, and they should have to reach to learn about things, to understand things, just as adults have to reach if they want to grow in mental stature. Life is composed of lights and shadows, and we would be untruthful, insincere, and saccharine if we tried to pretend there were no shadows. Most things are good, and they are the strongest things; but there are evil things too, and you are not doing a child a favor by trying to shield him from reality. The important thing is to teach a child that good can always triumph over evil.” ― Walt Disney Company  Treat your child like a person who needed your help. Offer to them your wisdom as an equal. That is all that we ask for.
3.      Can you fall I love with someone in three days?

A-Personally I think that you can fall in lust with someone in only three days, but I think that love is a whole other level. “I never thought true love existed and then I met you. You showed me so much of love and have filled my heart. I never want to lose you. I never want to be apart. Hold me in your arms and let me live there for the rest of my days”. - Ronny Clarke This quote shows that really it is just different for everyone.

Quotes from Heathers, a fantastic movie

Movie for reel

movie for reel
My favorite movie of all time is Joe Dirt. I love this movie because no matter what mood i'm in, it will always make me laugh. My favorite kinds of movies are the one that make me laugh. I cant stand it when a movie is gutwrenchingly boring. Like, westerns for instance. i absolutely hate watching westerns. I watch all kinds of movies all of the time. generally, if i am watching any form of television, chances are, it is a movie. I do this at least once a week. My favorite thing to do during a movie is to cuddle up in a blanket. I also like to eat cheetos while i watch movies. cheetos are the bomb.
    YOU ARE 100% EXTRAVERTED.
You are extraverted, outgoing, active and high-spirited. You prefer to be around people most of the time.

    YOU ARE 25% AGREEABLE.
You are hard-headed, sceptical, proud and competitive. You tend to express your anger directly.

    YOU ARE 75% CONSCIENTIOUS.
You are dependable and moderately well-organised. You generally have clear goals and are able to set goals aside.

    YOU ARE 83% EMOTIONALLY STABLE.
You are generally calm and able to deal with stress, but you sometimes experience feelings of guilt, anger and sadness.

YOU ARE 100% OPEN TO NEW EXPERIENCES.
You are open to new experiences. You have broad interests and are very imaginative.
I think that they hit the head right on the nail with this survey.
If there were to be a movie based on my life story, if we are being honest, it wouldnt be the brightest movie ever. I had a pretty rough start, but it is all good now. So my movie would be one of those sad in the beginning, but feel good in the end kind of film. I would want melissa mcCarthy to play me. I think she is pretty cool.

My Future

Future plans
I found it really interesting that there are so many stories to tell about being a military brat. I always thought that being a military brat isn’t as interesting as he was outing off, considering i am one. Another thing i found interesting was that his child was the person to inspire him to become a writer. I liked that we had a discussion about his kid in class. i think it is the coolest thing to have started writing because of a crummy children’s novel.
In about five years i will already be enlisted in the Navy. I see myself having moved up a little bit in the ranks. In one year i will be in basic training. in ten years i will be an officer. After that, i may settle down and start a family, but possibly not.

The field trip, inspired by Edward Hopper

The field trip

Today is the day that we are traveling to the zoo for our class field trip. All of my fellow fruit buddies are very excited. I have heard a lot of good things about the Homo Sapien exhibit.  I heard that one time, one of the humans busted through the glass and tried to eat some fruit. But I don’t really put much stock in stories like that. From what I have learned, the humans can actually be very peaceful. They used to celebrate strange holidays, and host random get-togethers with their friends. But then it all went bad. One day the humans had gotten a new leader. This leader was not a nice man though. He decided to mutate the fruits and vegetables until they were of an appropriate size, then he would feed us to the hungry people of his country. One day, a great ancestor of the orange had enough. He gathered all of the fruits, and the vegetables and we started a war. Without the humans eating us, they became very malnourished. We won the war, but we decided that we didn’t want all of the humans to die, because they did help us when we first began to form. But we instead put them in the zoos, and the local schools all take field trips to visit them. It is good to know your history, so that you can respect who fought for the very freedom we have today.

Into the mind of Lady Pink

The deer was skipping along,
Nothing abnormal about the way it skipped.
This deer found a pile of acid.
The deer licked it up as quick as he could, wondering why the food on the ground tasted so strange.
Then he went to sleep.
“Wake up son.” he heard off in a distance.
She was beautiful.
The lady deer was so majestic, and luscious.
Then he looked under this magnificent beauty, and saw God.

Walking through a meadow,
A meadow full of flowers,
Laying in the meadow,
For very many hours,
Nothing in the meadow is real,
Because it is all gone,
Nothing you can touch or feel,
Until you wake from the meadows song.

memorable quotes

newspaper inspired piece.

The photo from the newspaper that I was inspire by, was a woman and her daughter holding an ancient Indian artifact.  This woman is holding it with extreme care. It is in the shape of a pyramid, and it is covered in jewels.
She held the ancient key. She held it ever so carefully, making me worry. She found it in her grandmother’s closet. The story is that he who is worthy enough to open the amulet if everlasting life, is granted everything they desire. Upon opening, you can never die, never feel pain. Ask and you shall receive.

We tried for hours to open it. But alas we weren’t worthy, so we placed it back and hoped that one day we can open it.

memorable passage

““You are a side effect," Van Houten continued, "of an evolutionary process that cares little for individual lives. You are a failed experiment in mutation.”

I have never thought of evolution being a prominent theory happening so often. This line, gave me a sense of what was really going on, that evolution is happening. And not just in a million years, but now.

if i were in charge of the world

If I were in charge of the world
I would take away religion, and replace it with fact
Let go of hatred, and fill it with love
Throw away rudeness, and in its place have kindness.

Let people think the way they want,
Dress the way they want, act the way they need.

Pray to no one other than your friends,
Rely on no one other than your family,

          To always love yourself

Be a {blog} reader

·         I read this book about a year ago, and i fell in love with it. I love how even though we don't really know what sex A is, there can still be a bit of romance. "I looked at this excerpt in a way that I understand what the main character is talking about, he saying that he gotten used to the fact that he simply has gotten numb to the fact of changing bodies every night." I love the way you worded this. Has simply gone numb to the fact, is really cool sounding.

·         "And someone who forgets to wipe would be classified as a human". What?? Creative??

·         This is probably my favorite post of yours that I have read so far. I love that you respect the book, because books are pretty rad. They don't really need any further defiling.

·         "The first line last line thingy thing" Your title is quite pimpin' if I do say so myself. I have not read either of the books you wrote about, but they sound pretty cool. I think you should read though, reading is pretty cool. Some people don't have the ability to read, so you should cherish what God has given you.

·         "I am a cave, empty yet deep." This is a really good line. I love the way you describe yourself with such detail. Right on!

·         " and also Curse words" I love that you think the world would be better without swearing. I do disagree with that though. Now, i don't think people should go around making fun of one another and swearing at each other, but its a way to express yourself. When you are angry you are not going to scream about gumdrops and unicorns. You are going to swear, because it is a way to get it all out.

·         " I want to be able to take my kids out for ice cream to celebrate their good grades, or the end of another year of school. Having a family would make my life (especially my adult life) complete, because I would always have people to come home to, rely on, and love." You are probably the only teenager i know that dreams of having children. I respect that a lot. I think that more people who have kids should want to have them. Too many mothers are out there, who treat their kids like shit, just because they were an accident. I think that you will be a great mom, and i hope very good things happen in your future.

·         This is a gorgeous piece. I legit got chills when i read this line, "Silence is a dead man’s breath". Thank you for that, keep on writing.

·         "I am a mind too wise for its time, bound to misfortune" that makes you sound like a kind of kung fu master. That is pretty cool.

·         Rock on, man!

·         "We fear being humiliated at the hands of others due to our short comings" That is ever so moving. It really speaks to my soul.

So? I know I’m a dick.

Famous first and last lines

An Excerpt From
The Broom of the System
by David Foster Wallace
1981

"Most really pretty girls have pretty ugly feet, and so does Mindy Metalman, Lenore notices, all of a sudden."

David Foster Wallace is the award-winning author of several short story and essay collections as well as two novels. Most recently, he is the author of the biography Everything and More: A Compact History of Infinity.
Born: February 21, 1962, Ithaca, NY
Died: September 12, 2008, Claremont, CA

Lenore navigates three separate crises: her great-grandmother's escape from a nursing home, a neurotic boyfriend, and a pet that can talk. She ends up going on an adventure to go and find her grandmother.
This book doesn't seem like one of the books that i would normally read. i generally like fantasy novels, but i wouldn't mind reading this one, it seems pretty cool.

The Great American Augie
Saul Bellow (10 June 1915 – 5 April 2005) was a Canadian-born American writer.

"Columbus too thought he was a flop, probably, when they sent him back in chains. which did not prove there was no america."

The story describes Augie March from childhood to a fairly stable maturity. Augie, with his brother Simon and the mentally abnormal George have no father and are brought up by their mother who is losing her eyesight. Augie drifts from one situation to another in a free-wheeling manner—jobs, women, homes, education and lifestyle.

This book is in no way something that i would be interested in. It seems a little too deep for my taste, i prefer the lighter book.

Writers as readers

What was the first book you remember reading?
The first book I remember reading is the pout pout fish.  It is a story about a fish that was always upset about everything, and never has any fun. So he goes around the reef and asks the other sea creatures what he can do to get out of the rut he is in. they all sing to him, saying that he just needs to stop being such a bummer. He doesn’t listen until he saw a pretty lady fish. She went up and kissed him, and then instead of being the pout pout fish, he was the kiss kiss fish.
When you’re reading, what do you do to make yourself comfortable?
I like to curl up on the couch that is near the front door. I like to also be by the window because I prefer natural lighting. I also like to have no music in the room whatsoever. I need it to be dead silent for the best reading to occur. I also prefer to be eating flaming hot Cheetos as I read. Generally none of these things happen though. I would normally have to hear my siblings playing, and the tv in the other room. But it’s okay, I can enjoy a book anywhere.
What is your favorite book or series?

My favorite series is the harry potter series. I love the feeling of thinking there could be another world out there. A world of magic. My favorite book from the series is the fourth one, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This one is my favorite because of the triwizard tournament. This is when harry and several others were chosen to compete in monstrous tasks, and in the end Voldemort comes back. It is overall a very intense book, and I love the constant chills that it gives me.

pillow talk

Dan and his sister Driff, lived in a land called Pillow Hill. They lived a very happy life. During the day they would play along the striped terrain of the hill. But at night they would sneak out of their beds, and go into the otherworld. The otherworld always had the one human in it. Her name is Lyla. She is a very small girl, only about three or four years old.
When Dan, and Driff’s, parents would put them to bed they would wait until they hear them go to sleep. Then the children hopped out of their beds, and climbed out of their window. Usually when they go to the otherworld, it takes them about an hour to trek there, and an hour to trek back, so they can only stay for a few hours each night.
After about an hour they reached Lyla’s head. They climbed up her neck and went into her ear. They walked and walked until they reached the brain, or the door to the otherworld. They slipped themselves through the all too familiar hole, shivering with excitement, for what will be there tonight.

Usually there is a land of candy, or a bed of roses, and teddy bears. The three of them would typically frolic in the other lands until it was time to go home. But this time was different. When the children arrived, there were no lights. No candy, or toys. There was nothing, but Lyla’s voice. She was in tears. They turned and saw that there was a giant monster chasing her around the other lands. The children quickly left their friend, and raced home. That was the last time they ever ventured away from Pillow Hill.

the essence- a reoccurring dream

The essence
I wake up and I am in a dark room. I know that I am indoors because of the overwhelming sense of being trapped. It is cold in the dark room. I know that I can’t get out, but I could at least try to find a light switch. So I walk and walk and try to find a wall, but here doesn’t seem to be any. So I decide to run in a direction. I ran until I couldn’t run anymore, then I collapsed.
I lay there until I heard a noise. I closed my eyes and rolled into a ball. It was here to kill me, I may as well make it easy. I lay there for what felt like hours in a cradle position shivering. I am not a religious person, I knew there was no god, or savior that was going to help me. Then I opened my eyes. I saw a light, not any specific entity, just a light. God? I thought to myself.

Then the light came closer. The light slowly inched its way towards me. I lay there completely surrendering myself to this force. I hope that this is my savior, but I know better than that. I knew there was no goodness for me there. The cold began to intensify I saw that my fingers were purple. I curl in tighter, when the light began to touch me. The light began to choke the life out of me, and I lay there, unable to fight. Until it took the last of what I had, and then I wake up.

The Sky- inspired by the caged bird

Caged Bird
I know why the sky is blue,
I know it’s blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light.
I don't know why we care why the sky is blue,
It seems like knowing why serves as a restraint,
Ignorance is bliss,
Birds don’t care that the sky is blue.
Freedom means that you can think how you want
Nothing in this world can take away your freedom,
Being caged is locking that freedom up, just barely out of your reach
Singing your soul,
To let your freedom ride through your melody
I sing of my dreams,
My dreams of my family
My dreams of happiness
My dreams of not knowing,
Not knowing why the sky is blue
Flying up into the sky
The sky of mystery,
The sky of freedom.
Flying away from the things threatening to weigh you down
